Welcome to the Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire Methodist District 

We stretch from the Essex coast to the Dunstable Downs east to west and from the M25 to Biggleswade and Bedford south to north, an area of 2,500 square miles with a population of 3.7 million people.

There is great variation in geography and culture in town churches and rural chapels and in the initiatives we take in response to local needs.

We are proud of our chaplaincy work in schools, hospitals, prisons, airports, universities and more and we are indebted to our lay and ordained members who work tirelessly day by day and week to week in church and non-church settings.

As a district we provide  a framework of support for all aspects of church and circuit life and ministry within and without church walls and structures.
