Confirmation of Queenswood students

On Saturday 14 May 2022, two students were baptised and eleven confirmed at the Queenswood School chapel. Queenswood is a Methodist independent school for girls near Potters Bar, in the St Albans and Welwyn circuit.

The school is blessed with an impressive chapel which lies at the heart of the community and benefits from a full time Methodist chaplain.
It was a sunny morning and the girls were supported by their families and friends.

Queenswood confirmation May 22This was a joint Anglican/Methodist confirmation and we were delighted to have the Revd Dr David Chapman, Chair of the Bedfordshire, Essex and Hertfordshire Methodist District and the Right Reverend Richard Atkinson, OBE, Bishop of Bedford officiate.

It had been a long journey for the girls as the confirmation was initially planned for May 2020 and then deferred to May 2021, until it finally happened. The girls had all attended confirmation classes and had each written a few paragraphs on their journey to this very special day.

Bishop Richard preached on Luke 15:1-7, the joy of finding the lost sheep, and the service ended with the hymn, “I, the Lord of sea and sky”.

The celebration continued with a lunch reception hosted by the principal, Mrs Jo Cameron.
